Over 500 people participate in the 2024 "Run to the Moon"
WAPAKONETA, OHIO (WLIO) - The Run to the Moon has a new organizer and a new mission to help those around Auglaize County. The United Way of Auglaize County took over the annual run this year. There were over 500 runners and walkers that took to the streets around Wapakoneta to finish either a 10K, 5K, or one-mile fun run.
Guided tours highlight sites in Armstrong's hometown

Former Wapakoneta mayor wins appeal on 2022 conviction
AUGLAIZE COUNTY, OH (WLIO) - The former Wapakoneta mayor wins his appeal for his 2022 conviction in Auglaize County Common Pleas Court. The 3rd District Court of Appeals released its opinion on the case against Tom Stinebaugh. The judges heard arguments back in September 2023 on his appeal. Stinebaugh was sentenced to 18 months in prison after a jury found him guilty of having an unlawful interest in a public contract and theft in office. However, the 3rd District Court vacated both those convictions. He was also found guilty of three counts of conflict of interest, but the appellate court did not change those decisions.
Mental Health Board asks for levy renewal in November
Jul. 16—LIMA — The Mental Health and Recovery Services Board of Allen, Auglaize and Hardin Counties is asking voters to renew a 0.5-mill levy for 10 years. The levy, which will return to voters in November, raises $1 million a year for the Mental Health Board.
