    'Live roaches all throughout kitchen': How an Augusta event space got a 55 health score

    The Georgia Department of Public Health, Environmental Health Section, conducts regular restaurant inspections to help keep residents and visitors safe.

    The following is a list of restaurants in Richmond and Columbia counties that have been inspected between June 14 and 20, accompanied by their scores and, in some cases, the health infractions that lowered those scores.

    Disclaimer: On any given day, an establishment may have fewer or more violations than noted in their most recent inspection. An inspection conducted on any given day may not be representative of the overall, long-term conditions at the establishment. A few more recent, follow-up inspections may not be included here.

    "Observed restricted use pesticide (Raid) stored with chemicals. Ensure you are only using approved, commercial grade pesticides."

    "Observed items stored outside original packaging with no label. Label all items when storing outside of original container."

    "Observed packs of chicken sitting in sink to thaw with n proper method being used. Ensure use of proper methods when thawing foods."

    "Observed scoops stored inside items with handle touching. Store scoops in a way that handle does not touch product."

    "Observed build-up on floor and wall behind grill. Clean immediately and increase cleaning frequency."

    "Observed live roaches all throughout kitchen. Obtain commercial pest control. Continue until issue is resolved."
