    Belair Middle School to open in former Langford Middle building temporarily

    AUGUSTA, Ga. (WJBF) – Belair Middle School will open in a temporary facility for the upcoming 2024-2025 school year.

    According to the Richmond County School System, this temporary facility will be at the former Langford Middle School located on Walton Way and will be used until construction on the new school building is completed.

    Administrators state that the first day of school for Belair Middle School is Tuesday, August 6th, starting at 9:15 A.M., and daily bus transportation to the temporary facility (the former Langford Middle on Walton Way) will be provided for all students.

    “Our priority is for students and staff to have a stable and focused learning environment. Our transportation, maintenance, and school nutrition departments have worked tirelessly this summer to ensure a smooth transition for our students. Belair Middle School faculty and staff are excited to welcome families,” Dr. Kenneth Bradshaw, Superintendent of Schools, says.

    Parents and guardians are encouraged to engage with the Richmond County School System by attending the following community events:

    • Monday, July 22 : Belair Middle School family information meeting, 6 p.m., at Belair Elementary School, 3925 Harper Franklin Avenue, Augusta, GA, 30909. A livestream link will be available on the district website at rcboe.org.
    • Friday, August 2 : Open House, 12 – 6 p.m., at the temporary Belair Middle School site (formerly Langford Middle School), 3019 Walton Way, Augusta, GA, 30909.
