19-year-old identified as victim in fatal Augusta apartment complex shooting

Authorities have identified the victim in a fatal shooting Saturday at The Pointe apartments in Augusta.

Elijah Oliver, 19, of Augusta, was shot at least once and found in the parking lot on Acapulco Drive, according to a news release from the Richmond County Coroner's Office. He was pronounced dead just before 1:30 a.m. at the Wellstar/MCG ER.

Richmond County Sheriff's Office deputies responded at 12:46 a.m. Saturday to The Pointe at Augusta, on the 2400 block of Acapulco Drive, for shots fired, according to previous reporting. When deputies arrived, they found Oliver in the parking lot.

An autopsy has been scheduled, according to the release.
