Work to begin on culvert repair on U.S. 400
Kansas transportation officials said work will begin July 22nd on a project to repair a culvert on U.S. Highway 400 in Butler County. The repairs will be made at Tallgrass Road, west of Beaumont. Traffic has been reduced on Highway 400 since May, when crews discovered the need for repair work on the culvert. Crews will be working on a partly deteriorated drainage culvert that runs under the highway. As a precaution, KDOT had to move traffic away from the deteriorated portion, reducing traffic to one lane and setting up temporary signals to restrict traffic.

Salvation Army unveils new recovery home in with 21 beds
A new recovery home is opening in downtown Wichita. The Salvation Army of South Central Kansas previously used the space as a homeless shelter but has transitioned it to care for those in recovery. The shelter is meant to help those in need of mental health care and substance abuse treatment, as well as those experiencing homelessness.

Ramp closures planned for North Junction in Wichita
Kansas transportation officials are planning to close some ramps from Interstate 235 at the North Junction in Wichita on Saturday. The closures will affect the ramps from northbound I-235 to northbound I-135 and northbound I-235 to eastbound K-254. The closures will allow crews to install new footing for signs. The work will take place from 5 a.m. to noon on Saturday, July 20th.
