Downtown Kalamazoo street to close for a month for work on pedestrian bridge
KALAMAZOO, MI -- A stretch of Portage Street in downtown Kalamazoo will be closed in August for maintenance on a pedestrian bridge. Portage Street between South Street and Lovell Street will be closed Aug. 1, to Aug. 30, for the work, the city of Kalamazoo said in a news release.

Kalamazoo County buys solar field to power its buildings
KALAMAZOO, MI -- Kalamazoo County is the new owner of a solar field. The Kalamazoo County Board of Commissioners voted Tuesday, July 2, to buy a solar field at 1421 Healy St. The county had previously leased the solar field and has been putting funds aside for years to make the purchase, officials said.
Flint City Attorney nabs new job in Battle Creek
Flint, MI — City Attorney William Kim is leaving Flint for a position on the west end of the state. According to Battle Creek City Commission records, officials interviewed Kim on June 18, 2024, during their regularly scheduled meeting where they went into closed session prior to introducing Kim to the public. I-94 bridges will get repairs and maintenance, causing traffic impacts
BERRIEN COUNTY, MI -- The Michigan Department of Transportation will perform maintenance on six bridges, causing lane closures on the highway and other local road closures. The bridges include five bridges that go over I-94 and one I-94 bridge that goes over U.S. 12, MDOT said, and the work begins Monday, July 8.
