83-year-old convicted of killing wife, daughter with ax because he was worried they’d become homeless
ENGLEWOOD, Colo. (TCN) -- An elderly man has been found guilty of killing his wife and disabled daughter with an ax and dismembering their bodies with a saw in 2023. The Colorado 18th Judicial District Attorney’s Office announced June 28 that a jury convicted 83-year-old Reginald Maclaren of the first-degree murders of his wife, Bethany Maclaren, and their daughter, Ruth Maclaren, as well as two counts of tampering with a deceased body and false reporting. Reginald Maclaren is expected to be sentenced on July 10 and faces a mandatory life sentence without the possibility of parole for the first-degree murder convictions.
Bicyclist killed after vehicle rolls over into center median of I-76
The Colorado State Patrol is investigating a deadly rollover crash that left a bicyclist dead early Tuesday morning. The crash happened on I-76 near Sheridan Boulevard northwest of Denver. State troopers rushed to a report of a single-vehicle rollover and car fire in the center median of I-76 about 4:30 a.m. Tuesday. When troopers arrived, they found the bicyclist had died at the scene of the crash. The driver was the only occupant of the vehicle and was rushed to the hospital with serious injuries. The Colorado State Patrol said that the crash remained under investigation on Tuesday afternoon. No charges had been filed at that time. The identity of the bicyclist who was killed will be released by the Adams County Coroner's Office.

2 of 4 suspects plead guilty in connection to Ma Kaing's 2022 murder
Two of the four suspects arrested in connection with Ma Kaing's murder nearly two years ago have pleaded guilty. On July 15, 2022, businesswoman Ma Kaing was killed by a stray bullet while she was unloading groceries outside of her apartment on Xenia Street.Four suspects were arrested in her shooting death, Nu Ra Ah La, Pa Reh, Lu Reh, and Swa Bay. According to court records, Nu La has pleaded guilty to second-degree murder. Swa Bay has also entered a guilty plea. As for the other suspects, Pa Reh is scheduled for an arraignment in a Denver courtroom on July 15. Lu Reh has hearings in a Denver courtroom scheduled for July 15 and July 25 with a trial scheduled to begin Aug. 6. Reh is also facing charges of first-degree murder and assault with a deadly weapon in a different deadly shooting that happened in Aurora on May 30, 2022.
