    UPDATE: Severe thunderstorm warning added to tornado, flood watches through tonight

    Mower County, along with Mitchell and Floyd counties in Iowa, have been placed into a severe thunderstorm warning through 6 p.m. tonight.

    According to the National Weather Service, a line of severe storms has extended from near Hollandale to near Marble Rock and Aplington. This line is move at 45 mph to the east. 70 mph winds and penny size hail has been radar indicated with these storms. People should expect damage to trees as well as mobile homes, roofs and outbuildings.

    The NWS has indicated the storms will be near Lyle at around 5:10 and then Rose Creek and Stacyville at around 5:20 p.m., Grand Meadow at around 5:35 p.m. and LeRoy at around 5:40 p.m.

    A tornado watch and flood watch remains in effect through to 9 p.m. tonight.
