The Austin Police Department is investigating a case of vandalism at Todd Park and is seeking help from the public.

According to APD’s Capt. Todd Clennon, officers were dispatched to the soccer fields at Todd Park on Monday regarding a property damage report. Contact was made with a Parks, Recreation and Forestry Department supervisor who told the officer that sometime either Sunday evening or the day prior, someone had taken a vehicle on the fields and was doing “doughnuts,” resulting in torn up grounds and grass.

The officer also observed that the entire field was torn up from someone driving recklessly on it.

The supervisor stated that it was likely that the damage will result in thousands of dollars in repairs to fix and reseed the ground.

Anyone with information is encouraged to call the Austin Police Department of Investigations at 507-437-9400.
