Rattler bites rare but Winona hospital ready
WINONA, Minn. – Nobody in recent memory recalls any rattlesnake bite cases at the Winona hospital, but the pharmacy director, Jill Ender, says the emergency room is prepared. Antivenom serum can be flown from Mayo Clinic Rochester on short notice, she said. There usually is a six-hour window to treat a bite, Ender said. Because of the rarity of bites and a short expiration of the antivenom, the hospital doesn’t stock its own supply.

The Blue Earth City Council voted to proceed with demolition of the Three Sisters buildings in downtown Blue Earth during their meeting last Monday night, July 15. Pirates win final regular season game
The Blue Earth Pirates wrapped up their regular season with three games in five days, defeating Cleveland and Waseca while dropping a game against Minnesota Lake. The 13/60 League playoffs began on Saturday, July 20, with the second-seeded Pirates playing the No. 3-seeded Wells Wildcats in Wells.
