Some of the country's biggest LGBTQ+ events are happening this month — and Austin's Pride parade comes later this summer — but finding welcoming accommodations isn't always easy.

State of play: In an effort to solve those concerns, Matthieu Jost founded San Francisco-based Misterb&b — an Airbnb-style short-term rental platform advertised as a safe option for queer people.

    • Jost said he started the site in 2014 after he and his partner were harassed while traveling abroad.

The other side: To build trust on its platform, Airbnb has rolled out more safety features in recent years including ID verification for hosts and guests, and a way for solo travelers to easily share their itineraries with loved ones.

Zoom in: Austin still has plenty of Misterb&b listings available for those hoping to travel to the city soon or for the August parade.

🌳 Quiet creek views: Find a private deck, courtyard, outdoor shower and a stock tank pool at this highly-rated North Austin home.

    • Sleeps three. $224 for two nights.

☀️ Sunny upstairs unit: Spend the weekend in this 1930s duplex in the Cherrywood neighborhood.

    • Sleeps three. $349 for two nights.

🏊‍♀️ Two story loft : This colorful two-story home in East Austin includes a pool to help you beat the summer heat.

    • Sleeps three. $751 for two nights.

Meanwhile: Pride month concludes this weekend with events around town, like Pease Park Conservancy's Pride picnic on Saturday with Future Front Texas and Vacancy Brewing's party benefiting Out Youth on Sunday.

    • Plus, Taylor Pride will hold its music and art festival on Saturday.
