Arch Manning is expected to serve as Quinn Ewers' backup for the Texas Longhorns in 2024. According to On3 Sports' Nick Schultz , Manning recently spoke at an interview at the Manning Passing Academy.

Manning was a former five-star quarterback from Isidore Newman High School in New Orleans, Louisiana. According to the On3 Industry Rankings , he was the top national recruit, quarterback, and Louisiana prospect in the 2023 class.

The Texas quarterback played in two games last season. However, he is not letting that discourage him. His primary focus is staying healthy if he needs to step in and play.

Because, as Manning pointed out, 'anything can happen.'

“I feel like I’m getting better every day,” Manning said. “Just trying to stay ready. Anything can happen. I’m excited and I’m gonna be ready.”

Fans will have to wait another season for Manning to see significant playing time under center. Ewers is coming off his best season of college football. Last season, Ewers had 3,479 yards passing with 27 total touchdowns.

The Longhorns made it to the College Football Playoff semifinal before losing to the Washington Huskies.

Texas opens the 2024 season against the Colorado State Rams on Aug. 31. Kickoff will be at 3:30 p.m. ET on ESPN.
