    Pedestrian struck, killed by train in Austin Tuesday night

    AUSTIN (KXAN) — The Austin Police Department said one person is dead after being struck by a train in the 1700 block of West Stassney Lane on Tuesday night.

    APD said the call came in at 10:19 p.m. The call came in as a check welfare call for service, which required an immediate police response.

    The Austin Police Department and Austin-Travis County EMS arrived on scene where they located a male victim. The victim was pronounced deceased at 10:53 p.m., according to APD.

    Austin Police said this is not being investigated as a homicide at this time.

    APD said this is being investigated by the Austin Police Department homicide detectives, and they are currently in their preliminary stages of investigating.
