Rick Gilley, age 73, a man whose presence graced us with warmth, wisdom, and unwavering love. Rick was more than just a husband to Dora, father to Ricky and Michelle, and grandfather to Jacob, Austin, Bree and Ragan; brother to June Vaughn, Diane Hargrove and Danette Bailey; he was a pillar of strength and compassion who touched the lives of many throughout his remarkable journey.

Rick dedicated an impressive thirty years of his life to serving our country in the Army. His commitment and bravery were evident in every mission he undertook, earning him respect and admiration from all who served alongside him. His service was not just a duty but a testament to his deep-seated patriotism and sense of duty.

Beyond his military career, Rick was a devoted husband of 52 years to Dora, his loving partner in life’s adventures. Together, they built a foundation of love and support that extended to their two children and four grandchildren. Rick’s role as a father and grandfather was defined by unconditional love, guidance, and boundless pride in each milestone they achieved.

As we reflect on Rick’s life, let us remember the lessons he imparted through his actions: courage in adversity, love without limits, and a commitment to making a difference in the lives of the others he touched. Though he may no longer be with us in person, his spirit lives on in the memories we hold dear and the values he instilled in us all.

Rick Gilley’s journey may have come to an end, but the impact he made on each of us will continue to inspire and guide us. May we honor his memory by embracing life with the same passion and dedication that defined his remarkable journey.

Rest peacefully, Rick. You will be deeply missed, but your legacy of love and service will endure forever in our hearts.

Visitation will be on Friday, July 19, 2024, from 1:00 – 3:00 p.m. followed by a service at 3:00 p.m. at Woodbine Funeral Home, Hickory Chapel, 5852 Nolensville Road. https://www.woodbinefuneralhome.com
