Texas WR Silas Bolden: 'Going to make a play every time I touch the ball'

When Silas Bolden entered the transfer portal from Oregon State following the 2023 season, he instantly became one of the hottest names available. He didn't waste much time in choosing Texas, both because of the team's success last year and his excitement about getting to prove himself in the SEC.

"That's what I came to Texas to do," Bolden told the 3rd and Longhorn podcast . "At Oregon State nobody knew who I was. I'm always kind of the underdog. I feel like playing in the SEC is going to show everyone who I really am.

"I'm bringing speed, someone being a willing blocker, someone who is going to make a play every time I touch the ball, so I just can't wait to put on the shield."

Bolden is also bringing a hearty stat sheet . The California native racked up 1051 receiving yards and nine receiving touchdowns, not to mention another four scores on the ground, in the 2022 and 2023 seasons combined. That has Longhorns fans excited about his potential, particularly for fans who are pumped to watch the diminutive receiver burn past and leap over defensive backs in the season ahead.

How confident is Bolden that he can make a difference despite a loaded wide receiver room? When asked how many times Bolden needs to touch the ball to make a difference, this was his answer:

"It don't matter. Once I touch the ball you'll just have to see."

    That is a good answer.
