UT police looking for suspect in connection with shots fired call

AUSTIN (KXAN) — The University of Texas Police Department is looking for a suspect it believes is connected with a shots fired call that happened near Moody Center earlier this month .

Around 8 p.m., July 13, UTPD officers responded to a report of shots fired at 2001 Robert Dedman Drive. UTPD officers, the Austin Police Department and the Texas Department of Public Safety “immediately searched” the area but were not able to find a suspect, UTPD said in a news release.

The suspect is described as a white or Hispanic man, between 20 to 30 years old, between 5 feet 7 to 5 feet 9 inches tall and is a medium build. He was last seen wearing a black Miami Heat cap with a red brim, a gray Reebok hoodie with a logo, dark denim pants, white Nike shoes with a black Nike swoosh and a black backpack, according to UTPD.

Information provided is kept anonymous, and tipsters are eligible for a reward up to $1,000, the release said.
