This upcoming season will feature two top college football programs competing in what is arguably the most challenging conference in the sport: the SEC. The Oklahoma Sooners and the Texas Longhorns officially joined the SEC on July 1.

The main question among fan bases is which team is more prepared for Year 1. Many believe it's Texas, as the Longhorns are coming off a Big 12 championship and a College Football Playoff appearance, while Oklahoma has a record of 16-10 in the last two seasons.

ESPN's Paul Finebaum shared his opinion on what distinguishes the two teams. One notable difference is that the Sooners have a new quarterback, while Texas will have its two-year starter returning. Finebaum also believes that the Longhorns have greater depth at this stage.

"While Oklahoma was good last year, where is their quarterback?" Finebaum asked. "Quite frankly, Texas has one of the best quarterbacks. They have a wide receiver room that's spectacular. They have (good) defensive players. They have a very talented team, and I think Oklahoma is good, but I don't think they are quite as deep."

Finebaum also mentioned the schedules for both teams as a significant difference. He pointed out that Oklahoma's schedule is "unreal," while Texas' schedule is difficult but manageable. This is why Finebaum believes Texas will have a better season than Oklahoma in Year 1 of the SEC.
