    Austintown 12U softball wins third straight state title

    BOARDMAN, Ohio (WKBN) – Austintown rolled past West Side Little League to win the 12U Ohio State Little League Championship game on Monday at the Fields of Dreams in Boardman.

    It marks a third straight state championship for the team.

    Austintown piled up 11 hits on the day and plated eight runs in the third inning to take control for good.

    Peyton Severn and Kyndra Lake drove in three runs apiece in the victory.

    Mila Hamley tossed three hitless and scoreless innings to secure the win in the circle. Annabel Mikesell pitched one inning of scoreless relief.

    With the win, Austintown advances to the Central Region Tournament. The team will begin regional action on Sunday, July 21 against Wisconsin at 7 p.m.
