Inkcarceration boosts Mansfield food trucks
MANSFIELD — Sadie Stewart remembers when her food truck was one of the only Richland County trucks serving Inkmates a few years ago. The owner of Mad Meltz, Stewart said 2024 marks her team’s fourth year at Inkcarceration. Richland County’s Athena Gyro Express and Grunt Grub also set up at the festival this year.
Area schools join new athletic conference: Short Takes on the Westshore
Following the bouncing ball as more area school districts move from sports conference to conference. Last week it was announced that the Cleveland West Conference (CWC) has been officially established. The CWC is comprised of eight high schools and 10 middle schools in the greater Cleveland area, according to the press release.
Construction begins on Solon Community Park upgrades
In an effort to update Solon Community Park, construction has begun on phase one of a larger plan – the renovations of Cisar Field and playground, and a community garden. “The park was in much need of a facelift,” Richard Parker, director of recreation, told Cleveland Jewish News, said of all the new additions.
Hot Stove tournament brings heat in Alliance
Four Alliance-area teams played Saturday in the semifinal games of the Ohio Hot Stove Baseball League at Butler Rodman Park in the Carnation City. Rick Black Photography, which competed in the E League for ages 17 and 18, was the only team to advance to Sunday's competition, which included the state title games. Rick Black Photography defeated Alliance American Legion 166, 14-7, to earn its spot in Sunday's games. Other teams that competed were Sebring West Branch Goshen Ruritans, which lost Saturday morning to Elyria Dawgz, 15-7, in a G League game; and Alliance Big Red's Fishing, which lost Saturday to Grafton Midview Milano Monuments, 17-10, in an HH League game.
