    Averill Park restaurant reopens under new ownership

    AVERILL PARK, N.Y. ( NEWS10 ) — In June, the art non-profit Arts Letters & Numbers announced that it had bought La Perla Restaurant and Gregory House Country Inn in Averill Park. The Italian restaurant reopened on Monday after being closed for a little over a month.

    “This new chapter represents a significant milestone, allowing us to expand our reach, and deepen our commitment to nurturing creativity and community engagement,” said Arts Letters & Numbers. “We are excited to embrace this opportunity to foster community, and expand our programming.”

    La Perla Restaurant and Country Inn was previously owned by and Anna Maria and Alfonso Acampora, who bought the property from Bob and Bette Jewell in 2000. The Acamporas, who were both from Italy, brought their culinary skills to La Perla.

    Arts Letters & Numbers was founded in 2011 and provides community-based arts programming through workshops, exhibitions, concerts, film screenings, projects, and its Residency Program. Annually, the arts center draws more than 500 artists from over 20 countries.

    “At ALN, we believe that bringing together diverse groups of people from different ages and backgrounds is crucial to cross-disciplinary work,” said Arts Letters & Numbers. “By placing La Perla at the heart of our community, we hope to create a new gathering place where such diverse individuals can coexist and connect, fostering an enriching and inclusive environment.”

    The Gregory House Country Inn is also open under the non-profit’s ownership and offers 12 rooms for guests to stay in. You can make reservations on the Gregory House website .

    La Perla serves Neapolitan-style pizzas, pasta and seafood dishes, and weekly specials. All profits from the restaurant will be going toward supporting the non-profit’s programs. La Perla is open Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. and Friday through Sunday from 4 p.m. to 11 p.m., with the kitchen closing at 9 p.m. those nights.

    Queensbury barbecue joint permanently closes

    La Perla and the Country Inn are not far from the non-profit’s main campus at 1543 Burden Lake Road. The restaurant and inn are located at 3016 Route 43, about 1,800 feet away.

    “We look forward to welcoming back longtime patrons who have loved La Perla for years, as well as inviting new guests to experience the restaurant’s unique charm,” said Arts Letters & Numbers.
