25th anniversary for Avon Heritage Square Gazebo: Short Takes on Avon, Avon Lake and North Ridgeville
City officials will celebrate the 25th anniversary of the Avon Heritage Square Gazebo, corner of Stoney Ridge and Detroit roads, at 6 p.m. July 18. A short ceremony will take place prior to the scheduled summer concert at the gazebo to commemorate the anniversary. During the ceremony, officials plan to recognize the Avon Garden Club’s contribution to the gazebo, as well as display pictures from 1999 as the gazebo was being built.
Ohio’s casinos, racinos report uptick in May gambling revenue
CLEVELAND, Ohio — Ohio’s casinos and racinos saw an uptick in gambling revenue and had their best May since 2021. The state’s 11 casinos and racinos brought in a combined $204 million in May, up from $196 million in 2023 and $202 million in 2022. The record for the month was set in 2021, at $209 million, according to data from the Ohio casino control and lottery commissions.
