Tennessee plays N.C. State in Charlotte

College football takes over Bank of America Stadium this weekend with No. 24 N.C. State (1-0) taking on No. 14 Tennessee (1-0) in the Duke's Mayo Classic at 7:30pm on ABC.

Why it matters: It's a primetime game between two ranked teams, meaning a packed house and the eyes of the football world on Charlotte.

Here's everything you need to know before kickoff.

FanFest

Mint Street and Graham Street in front of the stadium will have a performance by American Aquarium at 3:30pm, food and drinks, a kids zone, an EA Sports College Football activation and of course, Duke's Mayo.

• FanFest opens at noon and closes at 6pm.
• N.C. State's cheerleaders will perform at 4:50pm and Tennessee's cheerleaders will perform at 5pm.
• 6:00 PM FanFest closes

Tailgating

Head to Clutch Kitchen & Pour House at 601 S. Cedar St. in Uptown for Tennessee's tailgate on Saturday. A DJ will start at 2pm.

N.C. State's Charlotte alumni network will host an event on Friday starting at 6pm at Monday Night Brewing at 2217 Tryon St. Entry is $15 per person.

What to wear

Charlotte-based apparel brand Girl Tribe launched a Miss Wuf collection in collaboration with N.C. State. The collection includes 10 pieces, which are available on campus, in Girl Tribe stores and online .

Transportation

Expect road closures around the stadium, heavy traffic and pricey parking. Public transit options include the CityLYNX Gold Line Streetcar and the Lynx Blue Line , which are both walking distance from the stadium.

• The Gold Line runs east and west from Elizabeth just over the Hawthorne Lane bridge to west Charlotte near Johnson C. Smith University. It's currently free to ride. Charlotte Gateway Station and the Mint Street stops are about half a mile from the stadium.
• The Blue Line runs north and south from UNC Charlotte to I-485. Weekly unlimited rides cost $30.80 and a one-way ticket costs $2.20 for adults and $1.10 for kids. Stop options include Brooklyn Village Station (roughly half a mile from the stadium) and Charlotte Transportation Center and Arena Station (just under a mile from the stadium).

Mobile sports betting

Legal mobile sports betting kicked off in North Carolina on March 11, and while the state has experienced a summer slump, things are expected to pick back up with the return of football.
