Patio season is officially in swing, and several newcomers to Denver's dining scene allow dogs.

Here are four spots to soak up the sun with your BFF (best friend fur-ever, duh):

    • BurnDown on South Broadway — one of the city's best places to drink with a view — just unleashed its pup-friendly, 30-seat patio. Dogs are allowed exclusively on weekends during brunch from 10am-2pm.
    • Kawa Ni , a Japanese pub concept in LoHi, offers an airy patio that seats 24. Come for the dumplings, crispy karaage chicken and addictive cabbage. Stay for the sake and creative craft cocktails.
    • MoonRise Garden Bar in Wheat Ridge is a super spacious family- and dog-friendly food truck park slinging local beer and frozen cocktails. The laid-back space also has a play area for kids, a variety of games and hosts live music.
    • Rare Bird , the seasonal restaurant atop the Halcyon Hotel in Cherry Creek, is launching a rooftop happy hour, called Bird Dog , every last Wednesday of the month through October. It features doggy-inspired dishes catering to humans and canines, and a portion of all proceeds go to animal adoption center MaxFund .
