MFAH to extend Friday hours

The Museum of Fine Arts, Houston will extend its Friday hours.

Why it matters: This means more hours to experience the art in the museum after your workday.

Driving the news: Starting Sept. 6, the MFAH will be open until 9pm on Fridays , in addition to free-admission Thursdays.

• There will be happy hour programming, live music and other art-related events on various Fridays.

What they're saying: "Our late Thursdays have been very popular because, for many people, evenings are when they are available to go out, so we hope that by extending our hours on Fridays more people will be able to enjoy the Museum," the MFAH said in a statement to Axios.

If you go: $24 entry to the permanent and special exhibitions, with free admission on Thursdays to the permanent collections.
