Oktoberfest returns to Snowbird Aug. 10 weekend

One of Utah's largest beer festivals is back this weekend.

State of play: Snowbird Resort's Oktoberfest will run every Saturday and Sunday from Aug. 10-Oct. 13, including Labor Day weekend, from noon to 6pm.

• The annual celebration will feature over 50 beer varieties, local vendors and family friendly outdoor activities like areal tram and mountain coaster rides .

What's new: This year's food menu is "vastly expanded," featuring new Bavarian dishes and a pizza tent, the resort's communication manager Sarah Sherman told Axios.

Context: The German heritage festival at Snowbird first started in 1972.

What's next: Speaking of ale-centric events, the 14th annual Utah Beer Festival is slated for Aug. 17-18 from 2pm-8pm at The Gateway.
