American Express to open new SLC airport lounge in 2025

American Express plans to open a 16,000-square foot lounge in 2025 at the growing Salt Lake City International Airport for eligible cardholders.

The intrigue: They're the first credit card issuer to announce a lounge at the airport.

What they're saying: In a statement, Audrey Hendley, president of American Express Travel, said Utah's capital is a popular destination for their cardholders both in the U.S. and globally.

State of play: The Centurion Lounge will feature an outdoor terrace with views of the Wasatch Mountains, a full bar serving alcoholic and non-alcoholic libations, a coffee station and hot breakfast and meals made with local ingredients.

• "Guests will have a wide range of seating options to choose from, including cozy armchairs, cafe seating and dining banquettes, quiet workspaces, a dedicated wellness room, and more," per a news release.
