In photos: The Warriors' Steph Curry triumphs in Paris

Steph Curry had an incredible first Olympics, to say the least.

Why it matters: The Warriors point guard led Team USA men's basketball to a gold medal after winning 98-87 against France and contributing 24 of those points.

Catch up quick: Curry, who missed previous Olympics in part due to injury, was crucial for Team USA both in the gold medal game and the semifinal against Serbia , where he scored 36 points to bring them back from a 17-point deficit.

• The Olympics reunited him with former teammate Kevin Durant as well as fellow GOAT LeBron James. Warriors head coach Steve Kerr took the helm .

What they're saying: "Steph earned this the last few weeks," Kerr told the Olympic Channel following the gold medal game. "It's not an accident they are able to do what they do down the stretch ... I actually wanted to say to him 'take a day off' because the work he has put in was incredible."
