    SF weekend events: Hungry Ghost Festival, chilling with cats

    • Here's what to check out this weekend.

    Thursday

    🎶 Treat yourself to " Brazil in the Gardens ," with performances by vocalist Monica Salmaso, guitar maestro Guinga and multi-instrumentalist Teco Cardoso.

    • 12:30–1:30pm at the Yerba Buena Gardens' Great Lawn. Free.

    Friday

    🐈 Chill with over 20 cats while enjoying an evening of live music performed by cellist Susanna Porte.

    • 7–8pm at KitTea Cat Lounge, though doors close at 7:10pm. Adults only. Tickets are $35.

    Saturday

    🏮 Honor the spiritual realm at the Hungry Ghost Festival , which will include a shopping challenge, art activation, procession and live performances.

    • 4–9pm in Chinatown. Free.

    🚘 Explore the evolution of lowrider styles at a car hopping contest and exhibit featuring up to 500 classic cars.

    • 9am at Palace of the Fine Arts.
    • Admission is $10 for spectators, $30 for show vehicles and $20 for motorcycles.

    💐 Swing by the Hall of Flowers show to peruse its annual dahlia competition.

    • 10am–5pm Saturday and 10am–4pm Sunday at the County Fair Building in Golden Gate Park. Free.

    Sunday

    ⚽️ Support youth soccer at FogGolazo , where elementary school students will face off on the field. There will also be a photo booth, soccer challenges, entertainment courtesy of Futboleros and more.

    • 10am–4pm at The Presidio's Fort Scott Ballfields. Free.

    🪩 Make Oracle Park your dance floor at Daybreaker , the daytime dance party.

    • 11:30am–2pm at 24 Willie Mays Plaza. Tickets start at $32.90.
