Season Ends The Way it Started For Senior Melons
The bad news is, the weather cut the Gothenburg Melons’ season a little short. The good news, they went out with a win. The Senior Melons traveled to Kearney on Tuesday, July 2 to take on the Kearney Jersey’s Seniors. Coincidentally, that is the team Gothenburg started the season against back on May 22. The season began with an 11-0 victory, and ended with a 16-8 win.
Kearney Little League falls in Majors Tourney, Will Face Hastings Saturday Afternoon
KEARNEY, Neb. — Kearney Little League has been cruising throughout the Little League State Majors Tournament, but got halted by South Sioux City, Friday afternoon. Kearney fell to SSC, 1-0, falling to the loser's bracket. South Sioux City heads to the championship game on Sunday, and will have to be beaten twice.
UNK Football announces player representatives, time for Media Day Tuesday
MIAA head coaches and student-athletes will travel to Kansas City, Missouri on Tuesday, July 23 for the 2024 MIAA Football Media Day, presented by Seigfreid Bingham. The 2024 MIAA football season officially kicks off on July 23 at the Kauffman Foundation Conference Center in Kansas City, Mo. The event will feature opening statements from MIAA Commissioner Mike Racy and the league’s Supervisor of Officials Phil Laurie as well as 15-minute press conferences with head coaches and student-athletes from each MIAA program. Fans can watch each press conference from the 2024 MIAA Football Media Day live, exclusively on The MIAA Network.
Loper earns second-team Academic All-American honors
Kearney, Neb. – Redshirt sophomore heavyweight Crew Howard has earned second-team Academic All-American honors as selected by the College Sports Communicators (CSC). The NCAA Division I, II, III and NAIA At-Large Academic All-American teams were released today. The “At-Large” category includes a variety of sports including wrestling, lacrosse, men’s volleyball, skiing, and water polo.
