    Crime Roundup: Ayden man charged with drug trafficking

    A months-long investigation led to an Ayden man’s arrest for trafficking cocaine and heroin, the Pitt County Sheriff’s Office reported.

    On July 3 detectives with the sheriff’s office’s Special Operations Unit concluded their investigation into the sale of narcotics with the arrest of Floyd Haddock Jr., 58, at his home at 661 Old Snowhill Road.

    The sheriff’s office said Haddock was charged with three counts of trafficking heroin, possession with intent to manufacture/sell/deliver heroin, eight counts of possession with intent to manufacture/sell/deliver cocaine and maintaining a dwelling for the sale of a controlled substance.

    Haddock was booked into the Pitt County Detention Center under a $1.5 million secured bond.

    Haddock has prior drug crime convictions in Pitt County that include selling Schedule II narcotics from incidents on Nov. 5, 1991, Dec. 2, 1993, Feb. 10, 2004, Feb. 12, 2004 and March 8, 2004.

    The sheriff’s office in other cases released reports with the following details and allegations:

    1600 block Manning Road, midnight July 2- 11:27 a.m. July 5: identity fraud; case active.900 block U.S. 64 Alternate, midnight July 4- 1 p.m. July 5: cellphone valued at $79 stolen from residence; case active.2900 block Ash Circle, 6 p.m. July 5- 11:25 a.m. July 6: fraud in the amount of $150; case active.3200 block Avon Road, 7:25 p.m. July 6- 10:49 a.m. July 7: break-in at residence; case active.3100 block Old River Road, 11:29 a.m. July 7: handgun valued at $599 stolen from residence; case active.

    Assaults

    5700 Rivercreek Drive, 10:59 p.m. July 4: man assaulted by spouse at residence; case cleared.1200 block Mumford Road, 2:19 a.m. July 6: man assaulted by stranger; case cleared.500 block Weston Road, 9:56 p.m. July 6: woman assaulted by boyfriend with cutting instrument; case active.100 block King Arthur Road, 10:13 p.m. July 6: man assaulted by two unknown people with cutting instrument; case active.700 block Olivia Drive, 3 p.m. July 7: man assaulted by child at residence; case cleared.

    The Greenville Police Department has curtailed information released on public reports. Following is information that was available:

    Break-ins, thefts

    1300 block Bristolmoor Drive, 5:30 p.m. July 3- 7:28 a.m. July 5: black Harley-Davidson motorcycle stolen from residence.

    3200 block Clubway Drive, 3:02 a.m. July 5: break-in at residence.
