HORRY COUNTY, S.C. (WBTW) — Horry County police arrested a 30-year-old man early Thursday morning after an hourslong standoff near Aynor .

Shaquille Walker was charged with second-degree domestic violence and booked into the J. Reuben Long Detention Center. He was released the same day after posting a $7,500 bond, online jail records showed.

According to an Horry County police report, Aynor officers were already at the home on Woodland Farms Circle when HCPD arrived. Walker had already barricaded himself in the home at about 10 p.m. Wednesday and told officers to leave.

A victim told officers that Walker had access to a gun and that he had been drinking, the report said. During an argument, the victim said he allegedly grabbed the victim, squeezed their throat and pushed them against a wall and onto the floor.

The report said Walker, who was prohibited from having a weapon because he was a recently released felon, refused to communicate with officers, who used loudspeakers to try to convince him to come out.

He eventually came out of the home at about 2 a.m. Thursday after authorities brought in a special operations team to handle negotiations, the report said.
