Mexican Baseball Fiesta 2024: Naranjeros de Hermosillo set to play in Phoenix area

The 12th annual Mexican Baseball Fiesta returns to the Phoenix area starting Sept. 26, when Naranjeros de Hermosillo face Yaquis de Obregón at American Family Fields of Phoenix, the spring training home of the Milwaukee Brewers.

September is preseason training time for the teams of the Mexico's top professional baseball league, Liga ARCO Mexicana del Pacifico.

Other teams taking part in preseason games are Águilas de Mexicali and Mayos de Navojoa. Games will be played at American Family Fields of Phoenix and Camelback Ranch, the spring training home of the Los Angeles Dodgers and Chicago White Sox.

The Sept. 26 game is at 7 p.m., while the Camelback Ranch schedule will be announced in the coming days.

The Mexican Baseball Fiesta is held in greater Phoenix and Tucson annually, with fans of Mexican baseball getting the chance to see some of their favorite teams in action at spring training sites around the Phoenix area. Previous years have seen Sloan Park in Mesa host games.

Live entertainment happens throughout the games and afterward, with families gathering around the musicians to give the event the feel of watching a game in Mexico. The Naranjeros, or "Orange Growers," are widely regarded as the most popular team among Mexican baseball fans in Arizona.

Tickets go on sale Sept. 4 at 10 a.m. for the Naranjeros-Yaquis game, priced at $20 for general admission and $25 for box seats. Kids, seniors and military members with ID can get $10 tickets the day of the game only.
