BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) — A man arrested after a SWAT standoff that occurred after he allegedly threatened to kill his girlfriend has been ordered to stand trial on spousal battery, threats and resisting arrest charges.

Mauro Zepeda-Gonzalez, 45, is due back in court next week. A trial date will likely be set then.

Man guilty of McFarland vehicle theft, battery

Police say Zepeda-Gonzalez armed himself with a knife in mid-June and threatened to kill his girlfriend at a home on South Haley Street. The girlfriend escaped unharmed.

Zepeda-Gonzalez barricaded himself inside, police say. He was arrested hours later when a SWAT team stormed the house.
