BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) — Kern’s weeklong heat wave puts everyone in danger of heat exhaustion, not just those who work outdoors.

The effects of the extreme heat can even be felt indoors if not properly hydrated. High school athlete Issac Arias Mendez was working out indoors when he began to feel symptoms of heat exhaustion and vomited.
