BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) — You likely saw and definitely heard thousands of fireworks going off in your neighborhoods on the Fourth of July.

Cameras from atop Adventist Health Bakersfield and the KGET studios captured the light from the likely illegal fireworks on Thursday night. The bursts from the fireworks could be seen coming from neighborhoods across Bakersfield.

There’s only one way to safely, legally use fireworks in Kern County

Fireworks began to intensify shortly after sunset and continued for several hours.

Fire officials have stressed for residents to purchase and use only fireworks that are labeled “safe and sane.”
