    Woman dead in Mohawk St. rollover crash

    BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) — Bakersfield police are investigating a crash that left a woman dead Wednesday morning on Mohawk Street.

    Emergency crews were called to Mohawk Street and Refinery Avenue around 7:17 a.m. for a report of a rollover crash.

    Upon police arrival, a woman was suffering from major injuries in the driver’s seat. She was pronounced dead at the scene.

    Police say the vehicle was traveling westbound on the Mohawk Street offramp from the westside parkway at a high rate of speed and drove into the embankment where the vehicle overturned several times.

    The victim will be identified by the Kern County Coroner’s Office at a later time.
