Texas, Oklahoma new kids on the block at SEC Media Days
DALLAS, Texas — For the first time ever, the Texas Longhorns appeared at SEC Media Days, which was hosted at the Omni Hotel in Dallas. It won't be the only time that the Longhorns are in Dallas this year as the city host the Red River Rivalry between Texas and Oklahoma. But this years game at the Cotton Bowl will be a bit different, with both teams joining the Southeastern Conference after the league expanded to 16 teams.
Texas Murderer Spared From Execution Over DNA Testing Concerns
Ruben Gutierrez was spared being executed less than an hour before it was scheduled to take place, leaving the victim's family devastated. Gutierrez was set to be put to death just after 6 pm on Tuesday, July 16th, 2024, but it looks like things have changed. His arguments regarding DNA testing in a lower court ruling led to an order to halt the execution by the high court.
