The NY Islanders rocket up Hockey Prospecting rankings after stellar NHL draft
The 2024 Draft Class is already impacting the New York Islanders, at least in terms of how the team's prospect pool is perceived. After drafting a player in the first round for the first time since 2019, the Islanders shot up eight spots in the rankings from Hockey Prospecting and are now ranked 23rd in the NHL, up eight spots from the last time the rankings were published.
Update: Air quality alert in effect for 5 N.J. counties Sunday
An updated air quality alert was issued in effect until Sunday at 11 p.m. for Passaic, Hudson, Bergen, Essex and Union counties. "The New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection has issued an Air Quality Action Day for the following counties: Bergen, Passaic, Hudson, Essex, and Union, From 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. Sunday. An Air Quality Action Day means that Ground Level Ozone within the region may approach or exceed unhealthy standards," says the National Weather Service.

Man killed, 3 others injured in Brooklyn boat collision
