Evan says Aaron Judge would be 'crazy' to be 'pissed off' about HBP: 'It's freaking baseball!'

Albert Suarez become public enemy No. 1 in the Bronx after plunking Aaron Judge on the hand in Tuesday night’s series opener against the Orioles, and Keegan Akin joined Suarez on that list after hitting Gleyber Torres on the hand just a short while later.

So, the debate became whether or not the Yankees should retaliate on Wednesday, and send a message to protect their teammate and captain.

Will the Yanks fire back? Evan says it all comes down to what Judge says.

“To me, it comes down to one thing: what does the captain want?” Evan said. “If Aaron Judge is pissed off at the Baltimore Orioles, then I’m sorry, there’s no debate. You have to continue to retaliate. If Aaron Judge is like ‘I’m good, I’m fine,’ then we can all move on.

“If he’s pissed off, I’m sorry, he’s the leader and he’s the captain. There’s no debate. If he’s pissed, you need to do something.”

So, the Evan and Tiki crew listened back to Judge’s postgame comments to determine whether or not he was indeed “pissed.” Evan and Tiki came away with opposite beliefs.

“He’s not actually hurt,” Tiki said. “Also, I think Aaron Judge understands the moment, and that it’s more important to go beat their asses on the field than to beat their asses in the box.”

Evan is convinced Judge is mad, but he countered that the Yankee slugger has no reason to be.

“What are the Yankees pissed off about, that the Orioles pitch up and in? It’s freaking baseball!” Evan said. “You’re a great player, of course they’re pitching up and in! That’s how they get you out, dude.

“Just because he’s not Greg Maddux doesn’t mean he’s not allowed to pitch up and inside. I’ll defend anybody who pitches up and in.”
