Now that the Yankees got their retaliation by plunking Gunnar Henderson on Wednesday night, is the potential feud extinguished?

Aaron Judge was admittedly “pissed” after being hit on the hand in Tuesday’s series opener, and after Gleyber Torres was also hit on the hand, Victor Gonzalez fired back by beaning Henderson on the upper arm on Wednesday. Do the two teams accept the retaliation and move on?

    Sal isn’t so sure.

“I don’t think they’re gonna keep it moving,” Sal said. “It’s getting testy with these two teams. I don’t think this is over. I think we’ve only just begun with this.

“I think you’re gonna see some more fireworks.”

As for the retaliation by the Yankees, Sal didn’t take issue with it in the moment, but wonders why Gerrit Cole didn’t do it earlier in the game, especially after Henderson came around to score in the seventh to bring in a costly run.

“You did put a guy on base, and he did come around to score. You can’t say it wasn’t a factor,” Sal said. “It didn’t help. You got some blood and got your retaliation, but it also didn’t help you.

“You could say it doesn’t matter and it’s just one game…but you can’t say that it didn’t negatively impact the Yankees on the field.”
