Keith: Orioles 'play a better brand of baseball' than Yankees

The Orioles took the Yankees out back for a 17-5 drubbing in Thursday’s series finale, and Keith says it once again highlighted that there are problems in the Bronx that need to be addressed.

“They just play a better brand of baseball,” Keith said of the O’s, who have now won five of seven against the Yanks in 2024. “The Yankees have a ton of problems and issues…there’s no way to avoid it, everything from the bullpen, Luis Gil’s innings limit. Is he slowing down? Is he hurt?

“Yankees better get right. Don’t lose three in a row…this gauntlet will expose you and show the truth about yourself.”

The Orioles are now just a half game back of the Yanks for first place in the AL East, and continue to show that they are going to be a serious problem all season, and beyond.

“This team took the Astros formula…a couple years go by, and they’re a pretty solid team,” Keith said. “They’re a competitor. Now, they have the ownership group that I expect them to go and make moves at the deadline. I expect them to keep these talented players. I expect the Orioles to be a problem in the AL East for the Yankees for a long time. And they’re a lot younger and more athletic and faster.”
