BT: Orioles have way more 'bounce,' 'energy' than Yankees

After watching three games in the Bronx, BT sees an Orioles team that has more bounce and energy than the Yankees, which is a major problem as the AL East race figures to be tight through the second half of the season.

“Just the energy, the passion, you just see such a difference,” BT said. “I look at these Yankees, and I know they’re gonna rebound from this and win 97-98 games, maybe 100…but I also fear that when they step on the field with the Orioles again, it’s gonna look like this again.

“When these teams match up, I see a dramatically different level of energy that one team exudes compared to the other. I know they’re not trying to go through the motion, but when you watch the Orioles, there’s a bounce. They’re more dynamic. They’re different. They’re faster and can beat you more ways.”

BT says the series against the O’s exposed some clear deficiencies in the Yankees roster, but also exposed a shortcoming in the team’s makeup, as he sees a lot of struggling veterans showing little life on the field, while Baltimore plays a much more inspiring brand of baseball.

“They also don’t project any energy,” BT said. “You watch DJ [LeMahieu], and I’m not here to disrespect him. He’s gad a great career…But he doesn’t emit an ounce of bounce. Gleyber Torres, it looks like he’s going through the motions. So not only are they not playing well, but they look like they’re sleepwalking, and that can be contagious.”
