Baltimore Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson took home his second MVP in 2023, thanks in part to a strong season throwing the ball.

Jackson posted career-highs in passing yards (3,678), completion percentage (67.2%), and yards per attempt (8).

However, Jackson still has work to do on his incomplete passes.

According to NFL analyst Warren Sharp, Jackson ranked fifth-highest among 41 quarterback on incompletions due to inaccurate passes in 2023.

The only quarterbacks who threw more incomplete passes because they were innaccurate were Deshaun Watson, Tyrod Taylor, Trevor Siemian, and Bryce Young.

Sharp explained his methods, though didn't totally elaborate on what he considered inaccurate.

Sharp's stat matches up with some other data. According to Pro-Football Reference , Jackson ranked 25th out of 32 quarterbacks in "On-Target Percentage."

Of course, stats don't paint the full picture, and there's so much more that could go into a bad throw: was Jackson pressure? Did an offensive lineman miss a block? Did Jackson slip or lose grip? Was there confusion from a receiver about the play call? Did the receiver run the route as well as possible? What was the weather like? There are tons of variables.

Nonetheless, stats say Jackson can improve in his accuracy.
