Ravens named a landing spot for former Pro Bowler that would help them continue awkward AFC North trend

It was an interesting offseason for the Baltimore Ravens, who watched several of their free agents sign with other teams in the AFC North.

Quarterback Tyler Huntley went to the Cleveland Browns and safety Geno Stone ended up with the Cincinnati Bengals. The worst one of them all was likely Patrick Queen landing with the Pittsburgh Steelers, a team that you just know is going to use him the correct way.

Life after Queen has the Ravens ready to give the workload to second-year linebacker Trenton Simpson. Simpson will be lucky enough to have Roquan Smith alongside him to learn from.

We are still a few weeks from training camp firing up, the Ravens could still look to fill out the roster. Bleacher Report floated the idea of linebacker Kwon Alexander being a fit for them and it could make a lot of sense.

“A return to Pittsburgh is unlikely, as the Steelers signed Patrick Queen and drafted Payton Wilson to bolster their linebacker corps. However, the rival Baltimore Ravens could potentially use Alexander to help replace Queen.”

Injuries have been the theme of Alexander’s career but the Ravens wouldn’t need to put him in a high-usage situation. He could be another veteran linebacker with plenty of experience that would help be a compliment to Simpson and the rest of the youth on the defense.

Alexander played in nine games last season before suffering an Achilles injury. Since being drafted in 2015, Alexander has played two full seasons in his NFL career. Alexander had 41 tackles, a sack, and an interception in the limited role he had for Pittsburgh in 2023.

Soon to be 30 years old, Alexander is not going to break the bank and it’ll be a one-year deal for him from here on out. On paper, it is a fit that the Ravens could look to approach. In the end, it could be Baltimore signing another AFC North team’s free agent.

The Ravens are trying to make a push for the Super Bowl in 2024 after falling just short last season. Any help they get could be just another piece of the puzzle of making that happen.
