Temperatures above 90 degrees will kick off the week in the Baltimore area, and the heat index on Monday is expected to reach triple digits, according to the National Weather Service.

Early Sunday morning, a rainstorm downed powerlines, which prompted BGE crew to work to restore power to 636 customers in the area, according to its website.

Despite the early morning storm, Sunday will remain partly sunny with a high near 95 before a breeze sets in during the evening. Sunday night’s low will be around 77 degrees before temperatures spike back up to 97 on Monday.

However, Monday will feel like 103 degrees, according to the heat index, a measure that takes humidity into account. Monday night will be partly cloudy with a low of 78.

Temperatures in the 90s will remain Tuesday and Wednesday, with Tuesday’s high reaching 94 and Wednesday’s near 93. Both days will be partly sunny.

On Tuesday night, a chance of thunderstorms is expected before 5 a.m. Precipitation chances will jump to 50% Wednesday, with a chance of showers possible between 8 a.m. and 2 p.m.

Chances of precipitation will remain at 50% to finish out the week with a chance of thunderstorms expected Thursday, Friday and Saturday.
