The Baltimore Ravens announced on Sunday that star quarterback Lamar Jackson was sent home from practice early with an illness.

But this is nothing new for the Ravens.

Everyone in the comments was not surprised by this announcement, with the quarterback being known for this apparently.

    "Scheduled Tweet," one account wrote.

"Get the yearly sickness out of the way early," another X user wrote.

And it doesn't help that this happened on the first day of training camp, with fans excited to finally get a glimpse of the team.

So hopefully we'll get to see him on Day 2.

    More on Lamar Jackson

    ESPN Ranks him at...

Every year before training camp begins, ESPN surveys executives, scouts, and coaches to find the top 10 players at each position across the NFL. And as expected, Lamar Jackson made his way onto the top 10 quarterbacks.

    But what number exactly?

    The answer: No. 4.

"I saw a quarterback who is consistently a high performer who elevates his team at every chance," a high-ranking NFL official told ESPN.

However, there is one area that lowers him on the list.

"One of the more overrated players in the NFL," a veteran NFL executive added when speaking with ESPN. "Immense talent but he makes a lot of mistakes. He's underdeveloped at winning at the line of scrimmage, tends to lock on to targets, more of a thrower than precision passer, forces throws into traffic."

Jackson was ranked as high as No. 1, but was also as low as No. 6. Last year, he came in at No. 3.

On his "4th and 1 Show" on YouTube, Cam Newton was asked if he sees himself as the greatest dual-threat quarterback to ever play the game.

"No, Lamar Jackson," Newton said. " Lamar's style is different than mine. He got big play any play. He got speed that I never had and he's just electric. I played the game more powerful. I can run, but I might probably get caught. Vick, Lamar, they ain't getting caught."

Even though Cam Newton had a shiny career with an extremely high peak in 2015, Lamar Jackson in fact has shown special abilities. Since being drafted in the first round in 2018, the Baltimore Ravens quarterback has won two MVPs .

One common talking point when it comes to Jackson is the lack of wide receivers that he has had to work with. Since arriving in Baltimore, it is fair to say that Jackson has not had a true top-level wide receiver to throw the football to. One former NFL player argues that is not a problem.

"I do not want to hear from all of you out there that are telling me that Lamar Jackson, 'Well they don't get him weapons' ... How many first-round wide receivers do you need to draft?" 12-year NFL veteran Mark Schlereth said. "'Well they're not drafting the right ones,' well you're not developing them. 'Well, how do you develop them?' Well, your quarterback has a long way to go in developing wide receivers. So I don't want to hear that bulls*** from you anymore, any of you Baltimore fans, I'm tired of it.”
