NFL Fans Baffled By John Harbaugh's Bold Lamar Jackson Take

Baltimore Ravens head coach John Harbaugh turned some heads with his training camp comments about Lamar Jackson.

Harbaugh talked up his star quarterback in front of a slew of reporters after the Ravens' first day of training camp. But the 61-year-old coach took it a step further when he talked about his grand "vision" for Jackson.

“The vision that we have together is that Lamar Jackson is going to become and be known and be recognized as the greatest quarterback ever to play in the history of the National Football League," Harbaugh confidently told reporters.

Harbaugh may have been dead serious. But fans online weren't buying the bit.

"I love John Harbaugh and his enthusiasm, but this was unnecessary. Lamar Jackson is a terrific player. There's no reason to say this."

"Apparently John Harbaugh has never seen Patrick Mahomes play. Or Brady…."

"When lamar and harbaugh learn to win a Super Bowl, you can def mention that. Until then it sounds ridiculous to say"

Jackson has soared to heights few have ever reached in his first six seasons in the NFL. The Ravens star already has two All-Pro nods and two MVP awards under his name.

However, the GOAT debate in any sport has always been defined by team-wide success. Playoff victories and championships become the be-all and end-all when it comes to separating the great players from true legends of the game.

With Jackson having just two playoff wins under his belt, it's no surprise that fans aren't prepared to anoint Jackson a future GOAT just yet.
