Jackson Holliday stays red-hot since being recalled, makes history

In Jackson Holliday's first MLB stint, things didn't go swimmingly for baseball's No. 1 prospect. However, he's taken full advantage of his second chance, continuing with another big outing on Wednesday.

In the Baltimore Orioles' 7-3 win over the Toronto Blue Jays, Holliday homered for the third consecutive game. According to MLB Pipeline , at 20 years and 247 days old, he's the youngest player to accomplish the feat in MLB history.

Since being recalled on July 31, Jackson is batting .375 with nine hits, four home runs and 10 RBI.

To put Holliday's streak in perspective, he's only the 11th player to record at least four homers, nine hits and 10 RBI over a seven-game stretch at 20 years old or younger, per Stathead . Since 1970, he's only the fifth player to do so, joining Vladimir Guerrero Jr. (2019), Ronald Acuna Jr. (2018), Jason Heyward (2010) and Alex Rodriguez (1996).

It's a small sample size but a promising one for Holliday and the Orioles. Called up 11 games into the season, he struggled at the MLB level, batting .059/.111/.059 with only two hits in 34 at-bats before being demoted to Triple-A.

With the Norfolk Tides, Holliday found his groove and confidence only grew. Over 73 games, he slashed .271/.431/.477 with 10 home runs, 38 RBI and 75 walks (266 at-bats).

Holliday recently attributed his turnaround to playing the "Golden Tee Golf" arcade game while with the Tides. But whatever has led to the emergence of the top prospect's game, it's working.
