Homeowner shoots man who allegedly kicked in the door to his Maine home

A man shot an intruder who allegedly kicked in the door to his Pittston home.

The homeowner called 911 about 8:46 p.m. Monday to report the door to his Palmer Road home had been kicked in and he had shot the intruder, according to Maine State Police Lt. Aaron Turcotte.

The suspect was taken to Maine Medical Center in Portland, where he was being treated and is expected to live, Turcotte said Tuesday afternoon.

The investigation is ongoing.

No additional information was immediately available.
