Feds want to seize two more alleged illegal marijuana grow houses . Maine law prohibits the state from pursuing forfeiture of such properties. However, federal law does not.

Maine’s top casino inspector sidelined amid tension with gambling regulator . Officials have not shared more details on why casino inspector supervisor Vicki Gardner was put on leave.

Officials faced a packed town hall in Brunswick after a toxic foam spill . The meeting came 10 days after a fire suppression system at the airport malfunctioned and released 1,450 gallons of PFAS-laden foam.

A Maine artisan store is opening its new downtown Bangor location today . In addition to selling work by more than 260 artists, the new space has a room for artists to lead classes and a maker’s space with sewing machines, a 3D printer and more.

We do not understand how it is already Labor Day weekend. Where did the summer go? You’ve still got a few weeks to wring all you can out of the last days of summer, starting with the Blue Hill Fair, which runs through Monday at the beautiful Blue Hill Fairgrounds. There are two concerts at the Maine Savings Amphitheater in Bangor this weekend: country artist Walker Hayes on Friday, and hair metal icons Bret Michaels, Warrant, Dee Snider and Firehouse on Sunday. And all weekend at the Augusta Civic Center, there’s the annual Maine’s Odd and Unusual Show, featuring hundreds of vendors selling everything from jewelry and home decor to taxidermy and bone crafts.
